Seven of Arizona’s ten community college districts attended the GISS-AZ 2016 on Thursday through Saturday, September 8-10, 2016, at Maricopa Corporate College in Tempe, AZ. Over 47 trustees, district chancellors, campus presidents and top administrative staff members from the colleges and district offices participated in the three-day event focused on student success. The event was sponsored by the Arizona Association of District Governing Boards (AADGB), Maricopa Community Colleges and Pima College. Meals were compliments of Maricopa Colleges.
In addition to presentations by GISS staff and several of the participating colleges, Roberto Zarate, ACCT Chair and trustee for Alamo Colleges, TX, and Dr. Chad Brown, President of Zane Community College, OH, presented student success data and insights on trusteeship and accountability via videoconference at the GISS. On Saturday, all colleges and districts presented new Commitments to Action to support their respective student success agendas.
